Biography
I was born in London and qualified as a teacher at the University of Manchester after graduating in Graphics and Illustration at Brighton. I have taught in state secondary schools and adult education. When at Brighton the war artist Leslie Cole was one of my tutors, he gave me a firm base in figurative drawing.
In recent years I have studied in Florence, and amongst other places, the London Atelier of Representational Art, furthering my knowledge in painting, drawing and sculpture all of which are strongly figurative based. However, my subject matter revolves around places as well as people, and no matter what the subject, I endeavour to capture both spirit and likeness.
I have exhibited locally in East Anglia and in London at The Bankside, The Menier and Mall Galleries. I am a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Art and the Cambridge Drawing Society, and Saffron Walden Museum holds pieces of my work in their permanent collection.
